MOI LOVE LIFE

Written on 21st october 2006

The first guy I fell for was a really good friend,
But at that time, liking a guy was not such a trend;
I hid it, kept it secret from even my best bud
The crush was big, but soon it turned into a dud.
Next I fell in love with a guy i'd never met
He was a handsome charming player of cricket
My heart throbbed with passion at his mere sight;
For him I was ever ready to pick up a fight.
'Twas my first love, I'm ure of the fact
Couldn't help the obsession, by trifle or tact.
Life seemed not so worthwhile if it wasn't for him.
But he was rumoured to be dating the stupid Kim.
My heart, it broke, learning 'bout thsi fact
But still I tried hard to keep it intact.
Then suddenly, it betrayed me and fell for this other guy
Tried hard to think, but couldn't fathom a reason why
Got crazier for him day after day......
I wasn't even able to keep these feelings at bay.
My friends who did know about this crush
Used to guess whether I was crazy or nuts?
Ultimately to me this news they did break,
But soon, I was about to make an even bigger mistake...
What happened next makes me feel like a fool,
And by no means it's gonna make me look cool.
I started liking quite an older guy,
He could be the biggest jerk in 'American Pie'.
He is my biggest crush till date,
And the spat with him was even in my fate!!
He was a tall and masculine stud,
But talking about his body? Well, it looked like a spud...
He used to stare at me everytime I was there
Smiled, gave me winks an' I walked into his lair;
I loved to see him, his antics made me glad,
This time, I believed it was more than just a fad...
His look said he was so in love with me
I was as happy as I ever could be.
But fate had planned it some other way,
That creep, oh God! Turned out to be gay.
It just ended, caught my heart in gloom
But I DID get going, even though not soon.
Now here I am having no big crush,
Yeah, there's no guy whose sight makes me flush.
It's so annoying, wanna have a crush soon
Otherwise, I may end up turning into a loon.

Hey!!! So how'd you like the poem? And go ahead, guess who the four guys are.... This was written a little while ago, so it misses an important person, but wateva!! Post your guesses to the 4 guys too, and whether you liked it or not???

India Poised

TOI has launched a new “India Poised” Campaign this year, to make the future of India brighter and better. It’s a really well carried out campaign. In today’s edition I read about a man who hammered away 22 years of life to give life and progress to his village. Dasrath Manjhi, as was his name, chiseled a 300-ft mountain which was hampering the life in his village, and as he had no faith in government, he took up the Herculean task. To go anywhere, the villagers had to cross the formidable hills, with all the shops and lands across them. The determined man sold his goats to buy a chisel, hammer and rope. He never bothered to eat while at the task, and at the end of 22 years, proved all those who ridiculed him to be a madman for setting upon his target, wrong. The passage was wide enough for the people of his village to reach the nearest hospital in an hour instead of six hours taking a circuitous route. In the process, he lost his wife, whom he loved dearly, just because she couldn’t be taken to the hospital in time then.

I felt that this was such a motivational story of a man set to beat all odds. I really wish to make a difference to the lives of the millions of Indians who slave themselves to make ends meet, see no progress, no technology, and are the true face of India. We say that India has developed, but has it really? When the actual population of my country is still shrouded in the mist of gloom? The politicians are mere dummies, who know how to speak and not how to act, and India shining will be nothing more than a dream if nothing is done to get these inhabitants of darkness to share the light many of us, fortunate enough to be brought up in cities, have.
